Carter Wilson Rouse

Tulsa and our world have lost an extraordinary person Carter Wilson Rouse, beloved husband of Melissa Fields Rouse, loving brother to Lucien and Page Rouse, ever devoted son to Lucien and Patricia Rouse, an inspiration to his cousins, nieces and nephews, colleagues, and friends.

Carter Rouse joined our world in 1961 and he gave us love and friendship continuously for the next 57 years. Too short of time. He graduated from Edison High School and then the University of Texas. In 1985, he married Melissa, the love of his life.

Carter was an esteemed and respected business professional. He was also a third degree blackbelt and sensei in Shotokon Karate. Our Carter also enjoyed playing his guitar and singing, and he and Melissa provided the perfect home to their many dogs.

A man of deep Christian faith, Carter embodied those values of love, compassion, empathy, and fairness. He walked the walk.

To all who met Carter, he inspired us by his integrity, intellect, and mischievous sense of humor, coupled with his gentle manners and infectious smile.

To all who were lucky enough to know him well, Carter was one of a kind and we are truly blessed to have had him in our lives.

Carter was a true gentleman. He was our rock. We will miss our Rock. Carter got it right.

Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 918-291-3500.
